What is That?

This young fox was playing at the end of my driveway when it stopped to check out something in my yard.

He did catch something a few days later. I saw him as he trotted down the driveway with something in his mouth.

Red Fox 2

A few weeks ago I posted a watercolour of a red fox and said that I might do it in felt.

Well I did and here’s the result.

Using the watercolour as a guide certainly helped the process.

I have been busy lately getting ready for Fibre Fling 5 which is on April 8 & 9 but I did manage to get this quick watercolour sketch done.

I might use this sketch to do a felted picture of him. I have lots of orange wool roving.

Determination

Here is a third watercolour painting in my series on the neighbourhood fox.  (You can view the others here and here.)

Unfortunatly this fox hasn’t been seen for a few months.  A few weeks ago a new fox  visited my place.  It doesn’t have the same penchant for posing for pictures; it ran off as soon as it was me watching from the window.

Concentration

Another watercolour in my series on the local fox.  (You can see the previous fox painting here.)

I watched the fox for several minutes while he alternated jumping from one side of the fence to the other and digging.   He glanced at me a couple of times but didn’t seem to be disturbed by my presence.

Bringing Home the Bacon

This cheeky little fox was very visible this last summer on his many forays to provide food for his family.

Once he knew you were watching him he’d frequently stop and pose for pictures.  The exception was  when he had caught his prey and then he was off home at a fast trot.
