These are some recent watercolour sketches I did from photographs taken on my early morning walks.
The ospreys are not always at their nest. If they are, as soon as I appear around the corner, they usually take flight and cry alerting me to the fact that they are there. They fly out over the road and then circle back and away from view.
The picture I based this painting on was taken on a sunny morning. The light made the reeds glow.
This past week I got together with a couple of friends to paint and play with polymer clay. Julie drove up from Brockville to stay with me for a few days. Margo is a neighbour here in Calabogie who joined us each day.
Margo doodled with pencil and coloured pencils .
Julie finished a watercolour she had brought with her and then switched to pastels to work on a Great Blue Heron we had seen earlier that day.
I worked in pastels on an Osprey that I had photographed a few weeks ago.
We got out the polymer clay and my toaster oven and made heads.
